I explore their shapes, patterns, and placement in the landscape, revealing how natural rock features influenced their design, and how these carvings were carefully composed. But this isn’t just about what we see. Using archaeological evidence, I consider how these designs were created, pecked into stone with quartz hammerstones, bringing sound, light, and even sparkling fragments into the act of carving.
