Pearls in Peril

An information panel outlining the unique environment of the River Ehen has been unveiled at a community event in the Lake District village of Ennerdale, Cumbria. The panel was designed by Aaron Watson and Steve Keeling, and is the first of four panels being produced by Monumental for the Pearls in Peril project, which is seeking to reverse the plight of the freshwater pearl mussel across the UK and Ireland. The remaining three panels, presently in development, will be displayed at key river locations across Scotland.

The Pearls in Peril panel now on display at Ennerdale Bridge.
