'Stones : Circles : Landscape : Art' was a major exhibition of art and archaeology hosted by Penrith Museum between 14th April to 31st October 2006. The exhibition juxtaposed contemporary artworks alongside prehistoric artefacts.
Eight artists were commissioned to produce new work reflecting upon prehistoric archaeology and landscape in Cumbria. This was subsequently integrated within the exhibition, curated by Aaron Watson and Simon Callery. The artworks were displayed directly alongside one of the most extensive displays of Cumbrian Neolithic and Bronze Age artefacts ever to be assembled.
The exhibition has been re-created online as a walkthrough of the venue. Visit the online exhibition walkthrough.
